Happy Halloween #1!!

Hi All,

Hope you're all well?  I've got a couple of days off work to do some paperwork for Daemo and typically I've woke up today with a sore throat and aching bones!!  Why does that always happen??  But it's not all bad news as I got to lay in this morning and finish off my Halloween Card for my Nephew!  I'm going to make cards for my Nephew's and Neice and put together a selection of Halloween sweets for them this year.  I saw Cadbury's Cream Eggs have been released as 'Scream Eggs' - had to buy one each for me and Daemo to try first though, just in case we think the kids won't like them, lol!!  So here's my first card made, do you like?...

Close up of Magnolia's Dracula Edwin (whooh hoo haa haa haaaaaaa - sorry had to get that in lol!!) and Magnolia's Moon and Bats, all coloured with my copics and coloursoft pencils...

Inside of card, the Bat stamp is also by Magnolia and the sentiment by Penny Black...

Side view - can you see the dimension yet or are my piccies still terrible, lol!...

I'm off now to take some more beechams and have a catch up with sky +, I'm sure I can fit in another sneaky card though, lol!

See you soon

Monster Birthday!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I do hope you've all enjoyed your weekends?  Shame the weather has been soooo bad but I guess that's what we can start to look forward to now ay!!  Never mind, means we have no excuse but to stay in and craft, yaaaaaaaay!!

I've made a card tonight for my best friend's son, Finley, who is going to be 3 next week.  I didn't know what card to make him, I was going to use Magnolia's Pirate Edwin but Finley's only going to be 3 and that seemed far too grown up.  So I had a nose through your blogs and found inspiration from Lisa (aka Wishcraft) - thank you soooo much Lisa!!  And as it turns out, the digi Lisa (and I!) used was created by my Sketch Saturday Teamie Paula (Pollycraft) - talk about small world, lol!  So here's my card, what do you think?

Close up of Pollycraft's Critters and Cogs 'Fluffy' coloured with my Copics and Derwent Coloursoft Pencils...

Inside of card, sentiment stamps from Woodware Monsters...

Side view, still haven't mastered this shot yet but 'Fluffy' and the 3 have been sticky fixed up honest!!...

I think he's everso cute even though he's a monster - I bet he's gives great cuddles, lol!!

That's it from me tonight, I think I'll be having an early one.  Had lots of fun last night with my netball girlies and surprisingly didn't feel too hung over this morning but had to get up early (well 8am!) to go on an umpire refreshing course so I'm feeling quite tired now - poor old bird!!

See you all soon

Sketch Saturday Week #121

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday!!

Yaaaaay it's the weekend! Hope you've all had good weeks? Mine has been a bit tough but I'm looking forward to relaxing and lots of crafting this weekend! I got started last night at 'Kitten Club'. You're probably wondering what on earth Kitten Club is?? Well it's a card making class I host normally once a month with the amazingly talented Lisa Baker. Lisa takes the class and teaches us new techniques whilst we attempt to make our cards as good as hers and have a right old laugh at the same time!! A perfect combination for me - Crafting, Wine and Cake, although we do have to make the complicated cards first in case we all have a bit too much wine, lol!!

So onto my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday - Week #121. This week we're sponsored by Ah! La Carte who have very generously given one lucky person the chance to win a voucher for 10% off their next purchase and 2 (YES 2!!!) Wild Rose Studio's Stamps, what a great prize!! And to be in with a chance of winning these prizes all you have to do is make a card following the fab sketch. In my opinion it's a win win - what are you waiting for???...

So here's my card, hope you like it? I've rotated the sketch a little...

Close up of Penny Black's Sweet Thing stamp...

Inside of the card...

Side view of my card - I tried to take the piccie so that you'd see all the layers and dimension to the card, shame I'm such a rubbish photographer, lol!

I made this card for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Katie, who makes the most amazing candles. The Cupcake ones (hence the stamp!) look good enough to eat! She's doing the Moonlit Walk tonight to raise funds for the Heart of Kent Hospice. They did such an amazing job looking after Katie's Mum so I know tonight will be tough but also (hopefully) fun for her. The Moonlit Walk is kind of like the MoonWalk charity walk in London, but it's about 10 miles (I think!) not 26 and it's in Kent. I want to wish Katie the very best of luck for tonight, MWAH, you sooooooo ROCK!

I'm going to crack on with my next card now, why not hop over to Sketch Saturday for some more inspiration from my fantastically talented teamies :o)

Lots of love

Another Baby Boy Card, aaaawwwwwww!

Hi all,

It's Saturday, wahoooooooooooo!! Which can mean only one thing - there's another FAB sketch to follow over on Sketch Saturday, wahoooooooooooo!! This week we are sponsored by the fantastic Simon Says Stamp, a $25.00 gift voucher is up for grabs and believe me, you will NOT have a problem spending it, lol!! So here's my card (week #2 as a DT Member, whoop whoop!). This one I've made for our bestest friends (and sort of cousins - long story, lol!) who had another baby boy at the beginning of August. We went over to see them last Saturday, aaawwwwww lots of new baby cuddles! Welcome to world Ethan Paul Murphy, MWAH!

Close up Elzybells Baby Teddy, coloured with my Copics and Derwent Coloursoft pencils...

Inside of card, sentiment is also by Elzybells...

Side view of card. You can't really see it (thanks to my rubbish photography skills!) but I sticky fixed the image and the star, then sticky fixed the Baby Teddy again, just to add a little dimension...

The papers I've used are Craftwork Cards - Vintage Rose Essentials (loads of fab new Craftwork Cards papers out at the mo!) which I've layered onto Bazzill Bling card. All the stamps I've used are Elzybells, the Grosgrain Ribbon is by Celebrate at Hobbycraft, the Buttons are all from Papermania, the charm was from my stash (sorry can't remember where!) and I've used my Nesties (stars), Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Border Punch and added Glamour Dust for extra bling!
I absolutely love Elzybells stamps and I'm so, so gutted that the amazingly talented Elizabeth has closed it down :o( I think there are still some bargains to be had though so do pop over and try and get yourself some.

I'll be back at some point over the coming week with another Baby Boy card for you, 3 baby boys all born within about 2 weeks of each other!! I'm desperately missing doing something pink, lol!! So until then, join in the fun at Sketch Saturday...

Lots of love

Hi All,

Hope you're all good and have had a good day today? Mine was a bit frustrating and a bit stressful so what better way to de-stress than to make a card! So this is what I've done tonight. It's for my cousin and her Husband who had an ickle baby boy recently. Welcome to the world Will Watkins :o) xxx

Close up of Magnolias Sitting Teddy coloured with my Copics and Derwent Coloursoft Pencils...

Inside of card, sentiment stamp is by Elzybells...

Side view of my card. I've sticky fixed the button, nestie and sentiment then sticky fixed the Sitting Teddy up one more layer again.

The backing papers I've used are Craftwork Cards Vintage Rose Essentials, Craft Creations Ltd Blue Gingham and Pebbles Inc My Baby Boy Star all layered onto Bazzill Bling Handsome card. The sentiment stamp is by Stampendous, the buttons (outside and inside of the card) are by Papermania, the organza spot ribbon was from my stash and the spot ribbon on the inside of the card was American Crafts. I've used my nesties and added Glamour Dust for some extra bling!

I'm going to enter this card in three challenges!

Papertake Weekly - Just the One
Just Magnolia Challenge Blog - Week 71, Anything Goes
Magnolia Down Under - Challenge #62, Feathers, Fur or Fins

See you all soon peeps,

Back To School

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Oooo, I do love Lazy Sundays, especially after a busy week - you just can't beat them can you!! I went to The Glitter Pot 's Christmas Craft Extravaganza yesterday with my Mum and good friend / Craft Tutor / Mentor/ Demonstrator / Absolute Legend Lisa Baker. We were out bright and early and went for a lovely cooked breakfast (courtesy of Sainsburys!) then hit the road to Shop until we Dropped, lol! There were some great demonstrators there, Julie Hickey from Craftwork Cards and Kay Carley to name but a few. If you ever get to see Kay Carley anywhere do snap the opportunity up, her colouring is just A-MAZ-ING!!! My Mum and I booked up to attend Kay's Tutorials at the Glitter Pot in October and I really can't wait!! Lisa wanted to come too but she is on her hols so can't make it :o( I think Kay is also Tutoring in December too so we'll probably go along to that one too, can't get enough, lol!

So, onto my card. Apologies I didn't get around to posting it yesterday, the plan was to get out and back early.....yeah right!! Craft shopping and coming home early just don't go together in the same sentence do they, lol!! But better late than never here's my card, my FIRST CARD AS A SKETCH SATURDAY DT MEMBER, whoop whooooooooooop!!

Close up of Tilda With Slate and School Desk, both coloured with my Copics and Derwent Coloursoft pencils...

Inside of card...

Do head over to Sketch Saturday to check out my other very talented DT Member cards, they're all absolutely gorgeous! And while you're there why not enter this weeks challenge, #119 sponsored by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!
The backing paper I've used is Lilac Gingham by Craft Creations Ltd, layered onto Bazzill Card. As it's a 1st Day at School card I thought I'd use some lined note paper instead of more DP which I used my MS Scallop Dot border punch on. The Organza ribbon was from my stash and the pearl gems are Opal Line from Basic Grey. The flowers are Prima and the buttons are Papermania. I've used my Nesties, Woodware Leaf punch, paper clips and Glamour Dust.
Daemo (Hubby!) wasn't sure about the paper clips. He thought that a little ruler or pencil would look better but the only ruler and pencil stamps I had were waaaaay too big. SHRINK PLASTIC!!!! Why didn't I think of that before, lol!
I'm going to enter this card in Just Magnolia Challenge Blog, Week 71 - Anything Goes.
That's it from me for now, Columbo is on in a min and then there's X-Factor (from last night but I missed it!) followed by James Bond - perfect Sunday viewing, lol!!
Lots of love,

Sketch Saturday!

Evening All!
Wow what a week it's been, I'm absolutely shattered and I've only had four days at work, lol!! I do think that a 'short week' is a bit of a misgiving though, after all you still have to do 5 days work but in only 4 days! But it's Friday night at long last so enough about work as it's now officially the weekend, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!
So, other than being flat out at work I've had some very, VERY exciting news to share with you all! Are you ready.....I've been asked to be on the Design Team for Sketch Saturday, whoop whoooooooooop!! OMG - can you believe it!! Wow, what an absolute honour, I really am so, so chuffed (can you tell, lol!). I love this challenge blog, the sketches are always so fun to play along with and I always try and enter every week but how exciting that tomorrow my card will be shown to everyone as one of the DT Cards for inspiration!! O-M-G!!! Don't think I'm going to sleep tonight, it's like Christmas Eve, lol!! So make sure you check out Sketch Saturday tomorrow...
